Humans prefer others who are familiar, similar, stable, but unprecedented immigration & globalization creates diversity. To master the unfamiliar, dissimilar, unstable heterogeneity: People categorize societal groups along simple dimensions of warmth (trustworthiness) and competence. Are we stuck with these stereotypes? Although stereotypes are sticky over time and place, people can get familiar with the unfamiliar.
