The European Union is still not reducing their consumption of natural gas sufficiently. The proposed price cap on gas will lead to problems in distributing the scarce resource. Economists around Axel Ockenfels suggest two measures to tackle the problem. A focus on increasing gas supply and the creation of a fund to reward countries that reduce gas consumption.
